Dice Roller – Roll 1 to 6 Dice Online

Roll a dice online: 1 to 6 dice at once, d4, d6, d8, d10, d12 or d20, with the total added up. Fair, secure randomness, free and no sign-up.

Lost the dice for a board game, or need a d20 for a role-playing session? Roll up to six virtual dice at once, with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 20 sides, and see each result plus the total. Free, works on phone and computer, no sign-up.

How it works

Each die is rolled separately with your browser's cryptographically secure random generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and rejection sampling, so every face is exactly equally likely: 1 in 6 on a d6, 1 in 20 on a d20. Dice are independent of each other and of earlier rolls. With several dice the total is not evenly spread: on two d6 a total of 7 can be made 6 ways out of 36 (about 16.7%), while 2 or 12 can each be made only one way (about 2.8%). That is why 7 comes up so often in games. The roll runs entirely in your browser.

Worked example

A board game asks you to roll two six-sided dice. Choose 2 dice and d6, then press Roll: you get a 4 and a 5, total 9. The chance of a total of 9 with two d6 is 4 in 36 (11.1%), from 3+6, 4+5, 5+4 and 6+3. For a role-playing attack, switch to 1 die and d20: every number from 1 to 20 has a 5% chance.

Frequently asked questions

Which dice can I roll?

From 1 to 6 dice at a time, each with 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 or 20 sides (d4, d6, d8, d10, d12, d20), the common sets for board games and role-playing games.

Are the dice fair?

Yes. Every die uses your browser's cryptographically secure random generator with unbiased rejection sampling, so every face has exactly the same chance.

What is the most likely total with two dice?

Seven: it can be made 6 ways out of 36, a 1 in 6 chance, while 2 and 12 have only a 1 in 36 chance each.

Does a long run of low rolls mean a high roll is coming?

No. Every roll is independent; past results don't change the odds of the next one.

Is anything saved?

No. The dice are rolled in your browser and nothing is stored or sent.
